12/20/08: What a really fun Kissmas special last night! Hope you caught it. Ace Frehley and guitarist Derek Hawkins braved the elements and sat in on the entire three hour show. Ace was in great spirits and had lot's of fun with us and Derek is a fellow Kiss fan so it was fun to have his perspective as well. If you were listening you can see how us as fans actually know and remember much more about the band than some of it's members! Great call ins and a good balance of music and calls and talk with Ace. The major news from Ace was the launch of his official site at www.acefrehley.com and the fact that he will be revealing a new title for his album (which he swears will be out early next year) and the cover on his site in a few weeks. He showed me the cover and the title and both were very cool. He plans extensive touring once the CD is finally out. Really cool to have him with us once again. He had fun and was very respectful of Kiss and his history with them and all the present and former band members. As I have said many time, Ace is a changed man the last few years and I am very proud of him for it. We go back now over 20 years and it is great to see him like this. The playlist for this years special is up now. I understand that people outside of the USA could not hear the show online due to internet law. You can hear this show replayed anywhere in the world this Saturday and Monday 10AM-1PM EST on www.knac.com. These are two full replays of the entire show with Ace for free and can be heard anywhere. Do not miss them. Of course the show will also be on all affilaite stations outside NYC this weekend as well. Finally Happy Birthday to Peter Criss who is celebrating today. We wished Peter well on air also. Ace will be my guest on the new episode of That Metal Show on VH1 Classic all this coming Christmas week. It debuts tonight at 11PM.
